Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow...,
........., but don't eat the yellow stuff. Not good for you. We have our first winter snow this year and its just peppering the ground so I guess by Colorado or Alaska standards this may be little more than a frost. Still it's snow to me non the less. Last year we had snow drifts at a massive 3 feet in hieght..., about a foot deep average - and we had it for X-mas no less. A drop in the bucket by the northern states standards - don't remind me. :-)
Some of you may recall the pic or pics I posted of last years snow..., but alas I lost my CD that I stored them on so I cant post em now. Not a big loss in itself but I had a ton of my Grandson's pics on it! That gives me a major case of the growls.
Anyway in other news: I did my rant on Santa but even so, some guy someplace demonstrated really bad taste by hanging a bound and gagged Santa dummy from a tree calling it "artistic expression". I mean, really. In one respect it's funny - but yet its just not right somehow. I have no idea if it was a professed Christian who did this or an atheist or someone who just thought it was funny. It's violent imagery and just not in keeping with peace and joy.., not defending Santa..., but still. Common sense has to kick in at some point.., a line drawn in the sand... uhm..., in the snow rather.
In other news a Great Grandmother gets tasered by a zealous cop. She was charged with resisting arrest and thus resulted in the tasering. The security video simply showed the woman sitting as the cop spoke to her aiming his toy. She did nothing yet he zapped her. [
Credit for drawing my attention to it goes to Miss Ginger]
Now, this guy was king kong in size comparison and this elderly lady posed NO physical threat. Had the woman tried to get medieval with the officer, he could have easily dealt with her without hurting her. But nope. I guess it was a new toy he had been itching to play with. Despite the video clearly showing a senseless abuse of authority on a defenseless human being, the woman is still in jail and the charges of resisting arrest remain.
I know violence is taboo for Christians - but a situation like that (God forgive me), I would have been on him like ugly on an ape. Yeah, I would have gotten tasered or worse.., but come on. Zapping an old woman like that? Okay - if she'd of had a knife or a gun.. yeah - zap the crap out of her.. but this was not the case.
Okay - I'm done now. As you were people. Get back to work, cleaning or whatever it was you were doing when you came here.

Artistic expression? Imagine two art lovers standing there, admiring this masterpiece. "Oh, how masterful the gag was applied!" "Yes, indeed. And how he tied those knots!" "Oh, it's simply divine! And the tree ... it's so lifelike and menacing!" "Oh, yes ... Van Gogh and Michaelangelo couldn't have gagged and hung a Santa any better than this!" |

Lynching Santa and tazering a grandma? Gosh, maybe we really are going to hell in a handbasket. What's a handbasket? Anyway, that's just WRONG wrong.
Have fun in your snow! Get out the mini malamutes and mush!
